Amazon unveils a new artificial intelligence tool to enhance product descriptions.

Amazon has announced the launch of a new tool powered by generative artificial intelligence, designed to help merchants enhance their ads by completing missing details or attributes.

Amazon announced that it will launch a new generative AI-powered tool designed to help merchants improve their listings by adding missing details or attributes. With hundreds of products on its platform, sellers often face the tedious task of regularly updating their item information. In order to streamline this process, Amazon has developed a tool called Enhance My Listing.

This new tool automatically suggests product titles, attributes, descriptions, and missing details based on seasonal trends. Sellers have the option to accept, reject, or modify these suggestions before proceeding to update their listing in the Amazon catalog. The company reported that it uses its own service, Amazon Bedrock, which handles generative AI models, to extract relevant information from customer engagement on the platform.

The launch of Enhance My Listing will begin today with a select group of sellers in the U.S., and expansion is expected in the coming weeks. This launch is part of a series of generative AI tools that Amazon has introduced since 2023, starting with a feature that assists sellers in writing product descriptions. In March 2024, they added a tool that allows sellers to create a listing simply by inserting a product URL, as well as enabling the upload of a single image or the input of a few words to generate a listing.

To date, over 900,000 sellers have used Amazon's generative AI tools, and it is reported that in more than 90% of cases, merchants accept the AI-generated content without making edits. However, this does not necessarily imply that the content is completely accurate; some sellers may not be thoroughly reviewing the suggestions.

Other companies are also incorporating generative AI into their marketing strategies, such as Google, eBay, Meta, and Shopify, which have launched multiple tools in this area. Startups like Avataar and Superscale are also developing applications to help sellers create marketing assets using AI.
