Grok, the chatbot developed by Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, xAI, has introduced a new feature called Grok Studio, which enables document editing and creation, as well as basic applications. This feature was announced on X on Tuesday night and is available for both free and paid users at Grok.com.
Grok's official account on X highlighted that "Grok can now generate documents, code, reports, and browser games." Grok Studio provides a workspace where users can collaborate directly with the chatbot, opening its content in a separate window. The first version of Grok Studio includes code execution and support for Google Drive.
Grok thus joins other chatbots that already have dedicated workspaces. OpenAI launched a similar functionality called Canvas for its ChatGPT chatbot last October, while Anthropic pioneered this with Artifacts for Claude. Although Grok Studio features functionalities similar to previous tools, it allows users to visualize HTML snippets and execute code in programming languages such as Python, C++, and JavaScript. All content is displayed in a window located to the right of Grok's responses.
The integration with Google Drive, which allows users to attach files from a Google account, further enhances the utility of Grok Studio. According to xAI, Grok can handle documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
