Perplexity joins the growing list of artificial intelligence companies offering subscription plans exceeding $200 per month, aimed at users seeking unlimited access to their most advanced products and tools. From now on, Perplexity Max is available on both iOS and the web.
This subscription plan includes unlimited monthly usage of Labs, a creation tool launched by Perplexity in May. Labs allows users to generate everything from spreadsheets to presentations and web applications. Moreover, Perplexity promises Max subscribers early access to new features, such as Comet, a new web browser that the company describes as a "powerful thinking companion for all your online activities."
Max subscribers will also enjoy priority customer support and access to cutting-edge models from partners like Anthropic and OpenAI. On the other hand, Perplexity will continue to offer its existing Pro plan, which remains priced at $20 per month. Notably, the new subscription is targeted at a specific niche, specially designed for content creators, business strategists, and academic researchers.
OpenAI pioneered the introduction of costly AI subscriptions by launching its ChatGPT Pro plan late last year, and since then, companies like Anthropic and Google have followed the same model.
