The human resources technology startup Rippling is trying to notify Deel's CEO, Alex Bouaziz, about a significant lawsuit they have filed against their competitor. However, there has been a setback: the French court agents hired by Rippling have been unable to locate Bouaziz, according to a report from an Irish newspaper.
Rippling sued Deel earlier this year in Ireland, accusing the company of having paid one of its employees to spy on them. This allegation is supported by an affidavit from the alleged spy that seems straight out of a movie. For its part, Deel denies any wrongdoing.
To proceed with the case, Rippling needs to notify Bouaziz, but the court agents have been unable to find him at the address they have registered in Paris. Given this situation, it is possible that Rippling will need to seek permission to send the notification via email. According to a French publication, Bouaziz is "highly nomadic," although he is considered "very connected to France." His LinkedIn profile indicates he is in Tel Aviv, while he mentions New York on X. So far, neither Deel, Rippling, nor Bouaziz have responded to requests for comment.
