San Francisco's BART anticipates 'significant delays' following a computer failure that halted subway service.

"A train control problem."

The BART metro system in San Francisco has resumed operations after a suspension that occurred on Friday morning due to a "computer network issue." As of 9:17 AM PT, service is "active at the systemic level" again, although the agency warns of "significant delays in service to all destinations due to a prior train control problem."

The service disruption was initially announced around 5 AM PT, at which point BART advised passengers to seek alternative transportation. By 9 AM PT, service was already suspended at stations in San Francisco and San Mateo County, but it was limitedly resumed in the East Bay area.

In the latest service advisory before the reactivation, BART communicated that there was limited service in the East Bay due to the aforementioned issue. Blue Line trains will operate between the Dublin/Pleasanton and MacArthur stations. Meanwhile, Yellow Line trains will run between Antioch and MacArthur, while Orange Line trains will operate normally. There will be no service on the Red and Green Lines at this time.
