Seven Artificial Intelligence Agents That Companies Will Commonly Use in 2025.

Artificial intelligence provides much more than just chatbots.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the future of work, with applications that are already being integrated into the daily operations of businesses. AI agents, once merely considered futuristic assistants, are now at the heart of business operations, participating in meetings, drafting emails, generating reports, and making decisions within predefined limits. Although they are not fully autonomous, their ability to understand context, complete tasks, and work with existing tools is what truly matters. These systems, known as copilots, digital workers, or business assistants, are becoming the operational backbone of modern organizations.

In the business realm, AI-based tools, such as those offered by OpenAI or IBM, are being valued for implementation in the workplace. One of the most relevant categories is the AI agent, characterized by its ability to act with a certain degree of independence, allowing for planning, executing actions, and adapting to new information. An AI agent is, therefore, a specific tool created to perform tasks on behalf of a user using advanced language models like GPT-4 or Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview.

Google's Gemini agents are already operational across various sectors, from fast food services to finance, optimizing processes such as customer service, factory operations management, and supply chain data analysis. Meanwhile, Amelia, which began as IPsoft, has developed a sophisticated platform of AI agents that integrates deeply into areas like finance and telecommunications, noted for its ability to customize its services for businesses.

IBM has also introduced its watsonx Orchestrate platform, a no-code system that allows companies to create AI agents that effectively automate routine tasks. Additionally, Microsoft, through tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure AI Agent Service, is utilizing generative AI to optimize processes across various business areas.

Anthropic, with its Claude agents, focuses on high-trust environments, providing tools designed to collaborate at a human level and perform complex reasoning. Likewise, North by Cohere is a platform that aims to replace routine digital work with intelligent automation and is already being utilized by prominent companies across multiple sectors.

Finally, OpenAI has introduced Operator, an agent that autonomously performs online tasks, handling everyday processes such as grocery orders and reservations. Although it is still in an early phase, it is seen as a crucial step towards AI that can navigate and act in digital spaces almost like a human.
