Three Aspects I Expect from the New Apple Health at WWDC 2025.

It is expected that Apple will unveil a revamped version of Apple Health at WWDC 2025. Below are three essential features that it should include, one of which is Doctor AI.

A fundamental period is approaching for Apple. While it is not the iPhone launch season, it remains a significant time: the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). With the 2025 event just a month away, the company has yet to reveal many details about its new offerings, but the focus is expected to be on artificial intelligence. There could be new hardware, such as the AirTag 2, as well as updates on the future of Siri. Since the introduction of the new version of Siri a year ago, Apple has announced that some of its features will take another year to implement. A revamped version of Apple Health is also anticipated, which will include a new AI-based virtual doctor, potentially improving the health of millions of users significantly.

Here are three key areas where Apple could make improvements in the new version of Apple Health:

  1. A truly AI-driven virtual doctor
Apple Health has been instrumental in tracking the health of many users. Apple's integration with medical records allows the app to automatically update with relevant information, such as blood test results or medication changes, without the need for manual intervention. However, Apple currently does not fully leverage all available data. One necessary improvement is faster device synchronization and the ability to access information through Siri. For instance, it would be helpful to be able to check glucose levels without handling the phone while driving.

  2. A more holistic approach to health
Despite having a wealth of information about users, Apple Health can be confusing compared to other fitness trackers. The new version is expected to place greater emphasis on holistic health, making it easier to track a wider variety of biomarkers using only the Apple Watch. It is also suggested that Apple Health should simplify access to specific application data, allowing users to understand their health in one place. This update is anticipated to include better tracking of nutrition and more detailed sleep reports.

  3. Health and fitness under one roof
Currently, Apple Health does not integrate the fitness aspect, which is fragmented and could enhance the user experience. An ideal solution would be to combine Fitness+ with Apple Health, using the data together to offer personalized workouts. By synchronizing data from multiple devices and medical records, Apple could create a digital profile that provides activity recommendations tailored to each user’s goals.

Additionally, ongoing work is expected on non-invasive glucose monitoring with the Apple Watch. Integrating technologies similar to those of Oura and Dexcom could increase Apple's relevance in people's daily lives. Tim Cook has stated that Apple’s greatest impact on humanity will be in the realm of health. A virtual doctor and an overhaul of Apple Health could usher in a new era in health management and make the app indispensable for an even larger number of people.
